By accessing or using Briteable ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Briteable is a community-powered learning platform that allows creators to build and manage online communities, create courses, host events, and monetize their content. Members can join communities, participate in discussions, access courses, and attend events.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Creator Terms

If you create a community on Briteable ("Creator"), you additionally agree to:

  • Pay applicable subscription fees for your chosen plan
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding content and commerce
  • Be solely responsible for the content you create and share
  • Not mislead members about what they will receive
  • Handle member data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Pay applicable transaction fees on member payments

5. Member Terms

If you join a community as a member, you agree to:

  • Respect community rules set by the Creator
  • Not share paid content outside the community
  • Engage respectfully with other members
  • Not use the Service to harass, spam, or harm others

6. Payments and Refunds

Creator Subscriptions

Creator subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.

Community Memberships

Community membership fees are set by individual Creators. Refund policies for community memberships are determined by each Creator. We process payments on behalf of Creators and deduct applicable transaction fees.

Free Trials

We may offer free trials for Creator subscriptions. At the end of the trial period, you will be automatically charged unless you cancel before the trial ends.

7. Content Guidelines

You agree not to post or share content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains viruses or malicious code
  • Is spam or unauthorized advertising
  • Impersonates any person or entity
  • Contains adult content without appropriate community restrictions
  • Promotes violence, discrimination, or illegal activities

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.

8. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Briteable. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

Our Content

The Briteable name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Briteable. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRITEABLE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
